Autumn in East Devon is a very special time. The mellow warmth of early Autumn is accompanied by a riot of colour when some of the trees compete with the stunning reds of the Triassic cliffs. Our walking programme is designed to treat you to some of the best routes and sights in the area, with contrasting coastal and rural walks. Each day’s walk will be about 7 miles and includes ups and downs but is generously timed for your enjoyment.

Day 1   :   Transport to Otterton. Walk down the East bank of the River Otter to the sea and Budleigh Salterton. Take an inland route to join the old railway line before heading south to join the coast path at West Down cliffs. This high point offers splendid all round views. Return along the cost path to Budleigh Salterton and then up the west bank of the River Otter to Otterton. Return transport to hotel after visiting Otterton Mill.

Day 2  :   Transport to Beer. Walk west along coast path past spectacular rock formations to Branscombe Mouth and then inland to Branscombe village. Return to Beer via an inland route through Hazelwood and past Beer Caves. Return transport to hotel.

Day 3  :   Walk from hotel up Salcombe Hill to the east of Sidmouth. Enjoy the magnificent views before making  inland to Weston and the Donkey Sanctuary. Then join the coast path at Dunscombe Cliffs before returning to Sidmouth via the picturesque village of Salcombe Regis and Salcombe Hill Woodlands.

Day 4 :    Walk west from Sidmouth up Bulverton Hill to Keble’s Seat for superb views across the Otter Valley. Cross Muttersmoor to join the coast path at Peak Hill. Walk west along the coast path through Ladram Bay before turning inland and walking across fields and along lanes to Otterton. Return transport from Otterton.
