A Restaurant Team Member
Job Title: Restaurant Team Member
Responsible to: Food and Beverage Supervisor
Hours: To average 20 hours per week according to rota to include evenings and weekends.
Scope and Purpose: To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach. To assist with the service of our guests, thus ensuring all guests receive efficient, professional service at all times and satisfying their needs.
Customer commitment:
* To be informed about and prepared for, all customers and to be available/easily accessible to customers during their visit.
* To exceed customer expectations by anticipating/being aware of their needs and offering a personal and attentive level of service to ensure that these needs are fully met.
* To welcome and be receptive to individual customer requirements and ensure that these are satisfied in a friendly, helpful and efficient manner.
* To adopt a “can do” attitude towards all aspects of customer service through a proactive and flexible approach to meeting customer needs.
* To be aware of services in other areas of the hotel/outside the hotel, so that customer queries/information requests can be handled in an informed and reassuring manner.
Responsibilities:
1. To have a good knowledge of the preparation and service of all dishes on the Restaurant menu.
2. To serve all guests in accordance with standards laid down.
3. To carry out mise en place (preparation) before service using department’s checklist.
4. To lay up and clear tables.
5. To provide attentive service during the meal and watch for special requests.
6. To assist in the general cleaning of the Restaurant.
7. To take every opportunity to up sell in the restaurant – Drinks etc.
8. To practice the correct and safe use and care of all items of equipment.
9. To attend work consistently well groomed, in uniform, as laid down to the standard required.
10. To be fully aware of and adhere to health and safety, fire and bomb threat procedures as laid down by the Hotel.
11. To ensure, on all occasions, you observe safe and hygienic working practices in order to satisfy Health and Safety at work, fire procedures and other statutory legislation.
12. To observe all security procedures laid down by the hotel and company.
13. To attend training when required.
14. To suggest ideas for further improving department and customer service.
This Job Description cannot be exhaustive due to the peculiar requirements of the hotel industry. Therefore the job-holder may be required from time to time carry out tasks requested by the Management.
The ideal candidate for this position:
* Must be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service
* Must be standards driven and detail-orientated
* Must have the ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
* Must be flexible with regards to hours
* Should have a good command of the English Language
* Should have excellent self-presentation

Salary : Depending on your experience
